Welcome to KVIS!

We are proud to serve approximately 500 amazing fourth and fifth grade students in a safe, well-maintained building that opened in 2000. At Kankakee Valley Intermediate School, we proudly live out our mission to “Enlighten Minds for Brighter Futures.”

The intermediate years are a special and transformative time in a child’s educational journey. It’s during these years that students shift from learning to read to reading to learn. We are committed to helping every student grow academically, socially, and emotionally as we prepare them for future success.

At KVIS, we believe in the power of partnership. When schools and families work together, students thrive. We encourage parents and guardians to stay involved, communicate often, and actively participate in their child’s education. Together, we can ensure KVIS remains a place of excellence, opportunity, and growth.

On behalf of our entire team, thank you for trusting us with your children. We are honored to be part of this wonderful community and are excited for all the learning, discovery, and joy this school year will bring. We remain dedicated to keeping our students safe and providing them with rigorous, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences every day.
